Bitter Truth

Yesterday i watched Slum dog millionaire, have to agree that i was very much impressed by the bitter truth shown in the movie. But also felt bad that it took an outsider to show us the bitter truth, the dark side. Why haven't any Indian directors tried this, when will they gather the guts to direct movies with the reality as the story............Y cant they stop or reduce making the same movies with the hero and heroine running around trees and singing some senseless duet and start making movies that make some sense. There is always an argument saying that the hollywood movies are considered better than the Bollywood ones, well if the bollywood directors start making movies like dor then even it will be considered as good, instead of adding too many songs with too many actors dancing, y cant they put in some good story that makes some sense.
There are so many quality directors in India with so much potential, why didn't anyone think about telling the dreadful story of the orphaned kids living in dharvi, why are they so busy in capturing bandra and juhu, showing the hiranandani area .
I was telling my sister this movie's story, by just knowing the jist of the movie she got angry and said that 'should they give so many awards to the movie that has shown all the bad things in India'?...........Thats when I thought why are people so reluctant to agree the bitter truth . Until and unless one agrees that truth obviously we tend to remain as if that does not exist at all and as the mere existence of it itself is not accepted obvously no remedy or solution will be thought for it and that remains for ever the bitter truth of our country which we the people of India who are very much comfortable at our respective homes are not ready to believe or accept.
